Our Moorabbin plant

Inside our laundry.

The equipment your linen passes through, and what each part of it does.

The tunnel washing line running down the floor of the eWASH laundry in Moorabbin

Tunnel washing line

A continuous batch washer, added in 2018. Linen travels through the tunnel in sequence instead of being washed one load at a time, which suits the steady daily volumes behind accommodation linen.

A row of industrial washer-extractors at the eWASH laundry

Washer-extractors

Front-loading machines that wash and spin in separate batches. They take the work that is kept apart from the main flow: smaller runs, different fabrics and anything handled on its own.

The blue WEISHI flatwork ironing line at the eWASH laundry

Flatwork ironing line

Sheets, doona covers and pillowcases are fed in flat and come out pressed. The line is WEISHI equipment, as marked on the machine.

Feeding and folding machines at the eWASH laundry

Feeding and folding

Linen is fed onto the line and folded to a consistent size, so what reaches your property can go straight onto the shelf rather than being handled again.

The RFID cabinet used to track linen at the eWASH laundry

RFID linen tracking

Each item carries its own RFID code. Reading linen in and out records the quantities moving between your property and our laundry, rather than leaving them to be estimated.
